Past Projects

Outreach teams have developed numerous projects with significant community impact. ProjectOUTREACH teams have truly “made the world a better place” by completing projects such as these:

  • Collected thousands of items of clothing for the homeless

  • Implemented school clean-up drives and environmental education programs

  • Presented programs instructing children about the dangers of speaking to strangers

  • Encouraged community members to become involved in the political process

  • Taught others how to avoid violence

  • Developed a nature walk

  • Educated others about the benefits of good nutrition

  • Built a handicapped-accessible playground

  • Collected truckloads of paper for recycling

  • Designed exercises to build self-esteem

  • Assisted in the building of low-income housing

  • Wrote books for the terminally ill

  • Conducted campaigns against drunk driving and drug abuse

  • Raised funds for such things as a shelter for battered women, treatment for babies born drug addicted, for Katrina victims and the Heifer Project

School programs have been used successfully as a part of the curriculum by teachers working with a wide variety of youth and in a variety of disciplines including Language Arts, Social Studies and Science. The program has been used by both Special Education and Talent Development teachers and in a variety of clubs and After-school Programs . . . and even by three groups of middle schoolers gathered together and advised by a high school team. Challenge: A Sense of Place
Event: Team planned and implemented Interfaith volleyball Tournament 5 area churches participating.
The entrance fee to volleyball game was a can of canned food to be donated to local Food Pantry.
